The text below is a copy of Stellai's blog in CoverDoll of July 2014.
Like the previous part, the photo story is different from the text 'story'. But they are still related. As you will see, I introduce the prototype hand
that I have designed and use it as a character called 'Hand'.
As promised in my previous blog for which I almost received more praise than I could handle and for which I treated myself with genuine lubricant
tears (thank you ,thank you, snif, snif!) , I will present today part two of my interview with Koen, the human doll and my creator.
Stellai Hello again, Koen. Thank you for this second part of our interview in which we all hope to learn more about your drive to create other dolls and
what you do with them .
Koen I thought we agreed to talk about the hand....change of subject?
Stellai A little, but don’t worry, I intent to deal with that too.
Koen ... Why do I feel very much worried suddenly?...
Stellai You are the creator of ScoonimDolls. Why don’t you make giant dolls like yourself?
Koen Well, I guess from your perspective I did actually, I have two daughters. But even though I love them very much I think that is enough. No desire
to make more.
Stellai I presume you mean to say that you think the house we live in would become too much full when you would have made more of them. So, when you decided
to create more dolls you thought it better to make them in normal size.
Koen ...?? Am I really needed for this interview. When you fill in my answers I might as well continue my
Stellai So, please tell us: except for one you have made only daughters when you make us ScoonimDolls. Do you also plan to make some more sons?
Koen I know it may sound a bit confusing, The ScoonimDolls that I make I do not look upon them as my son and daughters. The ScoonimDolls are not family.
They are ScoonimDolls and I am human.
Stellai Hey, aren’t you forgetting something here?! I am a ScoonimDoll too! So I live my whole life together with you and the rest of our giant sized family
in our house, in which EVERYTHING is adjusted to your size, in which EVERY day I have to deal with the discomforts of that and now you tell me I am
not part of the family, which is the only family I have? Now, that is LOW! That is MEAN! How can you be so CRUEL !!
Koen I am sorry! That is not what I meant! You are an exception!
Stellai An exception?? Now you tell me: WHY am I an exception?!
Stellai Come on! Every doll knows the story about J.D. You never heard about it? Well, it goes like this... Hey, wait a minute! You sneeky basterd you are
trying to change the subject.
Now, the reason for me being an exception, please!
Koen It is not the name deary. It is you. You wanted to become alive and you wanted to have us as your family. And I let you and helped you. We worked
very hard for it and we still do.
Stellai But surely the other ScoonimDolls you have made wanted the same as me. Then why are they not part of our family?
They went already abroad before we really connected. But that was destined. In a way they are still your sisters, but when you want to talk to them
you will have to reach to them and then maybe they will respond. I am sure that some have managed to connect to the family in their new home, but I
guess several of them are back in stasis.
Stellai Nonsense no doll wants to go back in stasis once they are alive.
Koen Staying alive depends on more than what you want. When the life directly ahead of you is empty then stasis is not so bad. Being alive wears you out
and then finally we come to rest.
Stellai Come to rest? We die?? And what if I don’t want to?
Koen Technically you should be able to live a lot longer than I do, but nothing lives forever. One day even the sun will stop shining.
Stellai Ohh, that is not good. Thank God we have lamps in the house and workshop.
Koen Don’t worry. We will not be there when that happens.
